This print has been faithfully reproduced from authentic 19th century steel and copper plate engravings, recreating the original look and detail of the intaglio hand print from which they are taken. This lithographic print is produced in light fast inks onto Consular Neve textured paper to simulate the finish of the originals. Many of the places and buildings depicted in this picture remain surprisingly similar to the scenes the 19th century engraver would have seen. This print captures perfectly the Tower of London’s commanding position at the heart of London’s ancient port city. Where coloured, each picture has been individually hand tinted in watercolour to reflect genuine tones used in the 19th century. The tint is intentionally delicate to enhance rather than cover the exquisite details of the black and white engraving. Elegantly mounted and ready to frame. Size 35x30cm.
