Henry VIII

Henry VIII

Henry VIII was King of England from 1509 until his death in 1547, the second Tudor monarch. He is famous for having six wives, Katherine of Aragon (divorced), Anne Boleyn (beheaded), Jane Seymour (died), Anne of Cleves (divorced), Catherine Howard (beheaded) and Kateryn Parr, who survived him. King Henry's break with the papacy in Rome established the Church of England and began the Reformation. Henry rebuilt Hampton Court, having taken it from Thomas Wolsey.
