Coronation Robes tankard

Product code: 30164562\1

The design on this Diamond Jubilee Coronation Robes tankard has been inspired by the Imperial Mantle, the oldest and most impressive garment of the Coronation Robes, last worn by Queen Elizabeth II at her coronation in 1953.

It was made for George IV at his coronation in 1821, the first monarch crowned as ‘King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland’ and the three symbols on the Mantle represent this - roses for England; thistle for Scotland; shamrock for Ireland (Wales was considered a principality so was not represented symbolically).

This hand decorated fine bone china tankard is made in England. Height 7.5cm, diameter 8cm. Hand wash only. Not suitable for use in microwave ovens.
