The original tiny crown was commissioned in 1870 as a more modest crown for Victoria to wear after the untimely death of her husband Prince Albert. The diamond and silver crown was only 9.4cm high and set with over 1,000 diamonds most of which were taken from other pieces of jewellery. It is currently on display in the Crown Jewels exhibition at the Tower of London. This decoration is designed and hand crafted in England. It is made up of English pewter, plated in silver and embellished with Swarovski crystals.
