- Product Information
- This limited edition decoration is inspired by the royal coat of arms of King George IV and celebrates the 300th anniversary of the Hanoverian accession to the British throne. The royal coat of arms, which features St George and the dragon, is taken from the Grand Punch Bowl or Wine Cistern and is part of the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. George IV commissioned this bowl as part of a great dining service designed by Thomas Stothard and is the heaviest surviving piece of English plate silver, weighing over 248 kilograms and able to hold 140 bottle of claret! The decorated frame that surrounds the royal crest is inspired by the acanthus scroll and the flower emblems of the United Kingdom including the English rose, Scottish thistle and Irish shamrock. The 2015 Christmas decoration is handcrafted in England and decorated with enamel and crystal embellishments. Each decoration is set in 24ct gold plate and is a beautiful limited edition piece to mark the New Year. Exclusive to Historic Royal Palaces.
