Turquoise Queen Victoria skull ring

Product code: 30164594\1

This skull ring has been inspired by mourning jewellery which was customarily worn to remember the death of a loved one. Memento Mori jewellery also served to remind the wearer of their own mortality and skulls were a good representation of this.

This style of jewellery was popular in the Victorian era, partly because of Queen Victoria who after the loss of her husband Prince Albert grieved for him for the rest of her life. Queen Victoria supposedly wore a piece of mourning jewellery every day following his death and because of this, mourning jewellery became very fashionable.

The Queen Victoria turquoise skill ring features a turquoise carved skull design surrounded by a sparkling crystal and seed pearl crown. The skull ring is finished with exquisite metalwork details in beautifully burnished silver.
The skull ring comes on a wide, pierce work band which is open at the back, making it easily adjustable to fit most sizes but is best for ring sizes 6-9.
Turquoise Queen Victoria skull ring: Turquoise, Austrian crystals, seed pearls, pewter, feather lite steel shank sterling silver plating. Height: 4cm Width: 2.5cm
