Inspired by Diana, Princess of Wales' stunning sapphire and diamond engagement ring, the design is said to be based on a brooch Prince Albert commissioned for Queen Victoria in 1840. Prince William inherited the piece after his mother's death and proposed to Catherine, Princess of Wales during a trip to Kenya.
