As well as one of the most acclaimed architects, Wren was a prolific scientist, mathematician and founder of the Royal Society. After the Great Fire of London, he was appointed King's Surveyor of Works and was responsible for rebuilding 52 churches in London, including St Paul's Cathedral. In addition to these masterpieces, Wren also completed architectural projects at Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace.
