A new series of coins from The Royal Mint in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces for 2020. The first coin is of the White Tower which lies at the heart of the Tower of London.
The White Tower was built under the orders of William the Conqueror shortly after he took power in England after 1066. The Tower was designed as a sign of power to both intimidate and impress the people of London and to provide safe lodgings for the new rulers. The design on the coin features a Norman arched window with the White Tower itself.
An intricate silver proof £5.00 UK sterling coin finished to a proof standard which shows every detail of the design.
