The armour is probably the earliest surviving product of Henry VIII's Almain armourers at his royal workshop. Designed for the Field of Cloth of Gold tournament, this close helmet was one of the earliest designed to turn on the collar to prevent neck injuries from heavy blows but still allow some peripheral vision. English, 1520 This item does not come complete with liner and is for ornamental use only.
