This beautifully designed goblet is inspired by the original Royal Arms of England and features three intricately carved lions on a red background and the Fleur-de-Lys on a blue background. Perfect for medieval themed weddings and parties or re enactment feasts.
Prior to 1340 the Royal Arms of England had been three golden lions on a red field. This shield was used by great warrior kings such as Richard the Lionheart.
In 1340 Edward III quartered his own arms with the Royal Arms of France, representing his claim to the French throne. The Royal Arms changed form over the years depending on the monarch at the time but the arms in this form were used by both Henry V at Agincourt and by Elizabeth I when defeating the Spanish Armada.
- The goblet is 17.5cm (6.9 inches) tall and weighs 0.40kg.
- The goblet has a metal base with a resin stem and cup. A stainless steel cup sits inside and can be removed for ease of cleaning.
