Diamond/plain pewter hip flask (Kensington Palace)
The hip flask in its present form originated from the 18th century and was initially used by members of the gentry. George II for example loved to hunt deer whilst staying at Hampton Court Palace and a nip from any of our pewter flasks would have helped him keep his strength up during the hunt! This pewter hip flask is engraved with a crown and ?Kensington Palace' and is wonderfully detailed with Celtic knot work . It is made out of the finest pewter and is handmade in the UK by skilled pewter-smiths and craftsman. Accordingly no two pieces are exactly the same and any differences show the mark of each craftsman, reflecting the art and beauty of all individually made pieces. Height: 12cm Width: 8.5cm (4.7 x 3.3 inches)
