This set of 7 dolls, Henry VIII and his six wives, is a rare opportunity to acquire a complete set of these stunning historical, porcelain dolls. The most famous of English kings, Henry VIII is richly costumed in red velvet and brocade and is inspired by the famous portraits by Holbein.
The heads of these wonderfully detailed dolls are individually sculpted in porcelain, as are the hands and feet with lifelike set-in eyes. All features are delicately painted by hand and each piece of clothing is hand finished with head-dress and finished off with the appropriate scale jewellery
Each approx. 12" (3cm) doll is personally made from start to finish in the UK and is signed and numbered by the artist. The clothing is subject to variations.

The first queen of Henry VIII and mother of Queen Mary, Catherine of Aragon, is richly costumed in silver and dark green velvet. She wears a black velvet gable style head-dress with a black divided veil, a silver cross and a woven gold cloth belt.
Henry VIII married his second wife, Anne Boleyn, in 1533 and she was proclaimed Queen only days after the annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. They had one daughter, Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth I). Anne was executed at the Tower of London in 1536 for treason. The costume is made from black velvet, brocade.
Jane Seymour was the third wife of King Henry VIII and succeeded Anne Boleyn as his queen following her execution. Jane Seymour replaced the extravagant and lavish court lifestyle of the former queen with a more conservative household and her motto was "Bound to obey and serve." The costume is made from red velvet, black brocade.
Anne of Cleves was the fourth wife but was never crowned as his queen. Anne was described as a beauty but when Henry VIII met her for the first time he was very disappointed and believed that he had been misled. Despite this Henry VIII married Anne and the motto "God send me well to keep" was engraved into Anne's wedding ring. The costume is made from pink velvet, gold brocade.
Catherine Howard was the fifth wife of Henry VIII and they were married almost immediately after Henry's marriage to Anne of Cleves was annulled. Henry VIII called Catherine his 'rose without a thorn'. The costume is made from delicate blue velvet, silver brocade and other rich materials.
Catherine Parr was the sixth and last wife of Henry VIII and they were married at Hampton Court Palace. The costume is made from brown and orange velvet, brocade.
