our regal Crown of India tree decoration is wonderfully detailed. Beautifully handmade, it is embellished with silver metal and silk threads on a luxurious padded purple velour background. This royal Christmas decoration makes a wonderful memento of your visit to the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London.
The design of this tree decoration is based on the Imperial Crown of India, created for George V to wear at the Delhi Durbar in 1911. The original crown is set with emeralds, rubies, sapphires, 6100 diamonds, and one large fine ruby. The weight of the crown led King George to complain after the Durbar that his head hurt and, unsurprisingly, the crown has never been worn by any British sovereign since.
