The 'Routemaster' London red bus
The famous red bus or 'Routemaster', an iconic symbol of contemporary London, went into service in 1959. It was 30ft long, 8ft wide, had 72 seats and was powered by a 9.8 litre Leyland diesel engine. The new FRM Routemaster has a front engine located at the rear.
