Kensington Palace has been a royal residence for the Royal Family since the 17th century and was the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria. The Palace is now the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children.
This unique enamel box depicts Kensington Palace and has been lovingly handcrafted by a team of highly skilled artisans in the heart of England.
The process begins with creating a copper mould which is then cleaned and coated with a thin layer of enamel. It then enters a kiln at 800C for 7-8 minutes.
This is then repeated no less than five times to ensure that the finish is hard, glossy and flawless in preparation for the painting and decoration.
Artists paint the design by hand, using special enamel paints which can take days depending on the complexity of each design.
The enamel is then fired a final time before it is checked, assembled and beautifully packaged.

Kensington Palace Enamel BoxThis is a beautiful enamel box. The detail and quality of the box is exceptional. Exactly what you would expect from a Halcyon Days Enamel. This depicts the home of Diana, Princess of Wales perfectly and the detail of the roses on the lower edge of the enamel is a fitting reminder of the flowers that were laid at the gates in her memory.
