This stunning Royal Beasts tree decoration features a heraldic rampant unicorn with crown. Beautifully handmade, it is trimmed in gold with metal and silk threads on a padded champagne satin background.
The Unicorn is a legendary animal that resembles a white horse with a spiralling horn and is one of the most important imaginary animals of the Middle Ages in which it was a symbol of purity and grace. The image of the unicorn is frequently used in heraldic imagery and is one of the Royal Beasts in the Chapel garden at Hampton Court Palace.
