In the middle ages war games were very popular. Tournaments were a way of training knights for battle, but knights often died young so jousting was developed. In a joust two knights on horse back would charge at each other, these knights would wear armour and carry a shield and lance. The armour they used for jousting was much stronger and supportive than the armour that was used for the battle. The point of the joust was to knock the opposing knight off his horse. To score points in a joust you could knock the opposing knight off his horse or break your lance on his shield. Measures 100x140cm.
