The Ceremony of the Keys is a centuries old tradition that is carried out at the Tower of London every night at exactly seven minutes to ten.
At the specified time the Chief Yeoman Warder emerges from the Byward Tower carrying a lantern in one hand and a set of keys in the other. The Tower is then locked for the night.
