The second coin from The Royal Mint's Tower of London collection. The coin celebrates the Crown Jewels, which can be seen in the Jewel House at the Tower of London.
The jewels remain under armed guard and are seen from visitors the world over who flock to see them within the imposing walls of the Tower of London.
This silver proof coin features the crown of Mary of Modena, who was the wife of James II. Three crowns were produced for Mary of Modena, and although her coronation crown is no more, a state crown and a diadem (ornamental headband) remain as part of the collection. The coin also features a special Tower 'mint mark' which depicts the White Tower, highlighting the connection between the Royal Mint and the Tower of London, with the mint previously operating at the Tower for centuries before moving to Wales.

The Royal Mint's second coin in their Tower of London range features an iconic image of the Crown Jewels above the outer walls of the Tower of London. The featured crown was worn by Mary of Modena, who was the wife of James II in 1685.
