This Kensington Palace unicorn pin badge is wonderfully patriotic and is inspired by the heraldic beasts appear which appear in the full Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, it which the unicorn represents Scotland. The full coat of arms show a heraldic Lion to represent England, alongside a heraldic Unicorn.These two iconic figures form part of a realm of animals known as the Kings Beasts.Used as part of the Kings Beasts - heraldic beasts mounted on the left and right parapets of the bridge leading to the entrance of Hampton Court Palace. As well as on Kensington Palace Gates. and Henry needed to invoke the gods of fertility to grant him a son: it is tempting to believe that this was why he chose a relatively little used royal beast.
