The Ceremony of the Keys is a centuries old tradition carried out at the Tower of London every night at exactly seven minutes to ten. At the specified time, the Chief Yeoman Warder emerges from the Byward Tower wearing the traditional red Watch Coat and Tudor Bonnet.  In one hand he carries a candle lit lantern, in the other he carries a set of keys - the "King's Keys".  With an escort of soldiers, the Tower is then locked for the night.
