Elizabeth I - the last Tudor monarch - was born at Greenwich on 7 September 1533, the daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn.
Elizabeth's reign is known as the Elizabethan era and this time in history is famous for the advancement of English drama led by playwrights such as William Shakespeare and also for seafaring and exploration.
